Town historical societies, like ours, are at the top of the list as "go to" resources fpr information about local history and families.  The Society's volunteers include advanced amateur genealogists who are skilled at helping others reconstruct the narratives for their families and property.  While our responses aren't in the same class with the work published by professional genealogists in national or regional journals, they serve as useful guides to local research.
